Intergenerational After-School Programs

DOROT offers intergenerational programs for youth of varying ages to connect with older adults. Interacting with older adults enables youth to develop communication skills, positive attitudes toward aging, and a sense of purpose and community.

Book Buds
Wednesdays, January 31 - May 23
4:00-5:30pm

A reading adventure for 3rd & 4th grade students and older adults that nurtures children’s love of reading through a variety of fun and creative activities.

Intergenerational Chess
Mondays, January 29 - May 14
4:00-5:30pm

Students in 6th - 12th grades and older adults play chess together, share their love of the game and help build intergenerational connections across the chess board.
