Senior Development Associate

Position Description Summary: The Senior Development Associate is responsible for engaging, cultivating, and soliciting donors and prospects; organizing fundraising and cultivation events, and creating leadership development programming.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Educate donors and prospects about DOROT’s Mission through volunteer experiences, fundraising events, educational programs, and committee involvement
  • Create new cultivation events, including small gatherings and networking receptions
  • Work with Event Chairs to organize DOROT’s Annual Spring Benefit
  • Work with DOROT’s Westchester Committee on annual fundraising and cultivation events
  • Work with Next Dor, DOROT’s young philanthropy group
  • Participate in solicitations of annual donors
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Three or more years of professional fundraising experience
  • Excellent donor relations skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently and with poise to all donors and high-level volunteers
  • Quick learner with strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of volunteer/professional dynamics
  • Good team player with the ability to help build consensus
  • Exemplary time and project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional and proven communication and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter who is resourceful and able to spearhead new initiatives
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus
