Homelessness Prevention Program

Homelessness Prevention Program DOROT’s Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP) provides homeless older adults with transitional housing, kosher meals, counseling and case assistance, and relocates them into safe, affordable and permanent housing. The HPP’s Aftercare component offers resettled seniors continued support and assistance with benefits, food and services to ensure that they never become homeless again.

  1. A special way to engage your business, corporation, synagogue or group of friends to give service on 9/11 is to sponsor, prepare and serve a dinner at the HPP facility on 9/11/13 to current residents and Aftercare clients. Sponsorship is a $900 donation to cover the cost of the food and paper supplies. We need 5–7 volunteers to help set–up, serve dinner and socialize with about 35–40 seniors. Time commitment is from 5–7:30 PM. For more information please contact Judith Turner, Director of Volunteer Services,
