Corporate Volunteer Groups
Employee group volunteer programs develop teambuilding skills, boost employee morale, and strengthen your corporation’s visibility in the community. Your volunteers may participate in one of DOROT’s ongoing programs, or you may choose to sponsor a unique intergenerational program in partnership with DOROT. The volunteer opportunities are unlimited, the impact on seniors immeasurable, and the rewards to employees immense.
Among the innovative programs planned and sponsored by our corporate partners are Senior Prom, Museum Visits, Intergenerational Film Screening and Discussion, Ellis Island Trip, Bread Baking, Packing Food bags for package deliveries, cook and serve Dinner for DOROT’s Homeless Prevention Program.
If you’d like DOROT to customize a Community Service Day program for your group, contact Judith Turner at email@example.com or 917–441–3722

DOROT hosted a Senior Prom with support from Goldman Sachs. 14 older New Yorkers and 19 Goldman Sachs summer interns attended the event. This year’s prom theme was Vintage Hollywood. Upon arrival, seniors were greeted by interns and given corsages and party favors. Everyone enjoyed lunch, took pictures in a photo booth, and danced to songs like “Only You” by the Platters and “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra in the decked-out auditorium at DOROT’s Upper West Side headquarters. At the end of the event, interns distributed superlatives and guests took home their own commemorative photos in frames.
Volunteers from PIMCO served dinner at DOROT’s Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP). Volunteers began the experience with a brief orientation, set tables, plated food, and enjoyed dinner, sponsored by PIMCO, alongside residents and former residents of the HPP.
DOROT seniors and volunteers from Burberry had a great time creating beautiful canvas paintings at DOROT which will be used to decorate a local hospital.
