DOROT's Volunteer Corps
Thank you for your interest in DOROT's Volunteer Corps; this group is comprised of dedicated adult volunteers who periodically help provide a range of services to assist DOROT seniors. Individuals in the Volunteer Corps are screened and trained to provide specialized assistance in the following programs:
Hand-in-Hand - Join DOROT seniors on cultural excursions.
Days of Beauty - Share a trip to the beauty salon with a DOROT senior.
Computer Tutors - Help open up the world of computers to a senior.
Birthday Visits - Deliver a birthday cake and spend time visiting with a senior on their special day.
Response Team - Receive email alerts from DOROT to assist seniors as needs arise (e.g. read to the visually impaired, run a last minute errand, escort, etc.).
Office Volunteer - Help with general office work, including mailings, phone calls, and database input. Basic computer skills preferred.
Cemetery Visits - Escort a senior to the cemetery.
Please join other volunteers for specialized training conducted by DOROT staff. A screening session, training, and background check are mandatory for all Volunteer Corps participants. Sessions run for approximately one hour. Register online for an upcoming training—select one of the dates below. Please inform staff if you are unable to attend an upcoming training session. We will do our best to accommodate you.
