Established in 1976 and one of the largest friendly visiting programs in New York, DOROT’s Friendly Visiting has created long–lasting friendships by bringing the generations together to share ideas, opinions and experiences. Friendly Visiting matches you with a senior for weekly home visits. A DOROT social worker matches each senior and volunteer based on mutual interests, availability and location, and maintains a supportive presence for the duration of the relationship.
Friendly Visiting can easily fit into your schedule and become a fulfilling part of your life. An interview is required. You will receive training and ongoing support from a DOROT social worker. Interview, training, references and background check are required.
