Volunteer Opportunities for High School Students
Teen interns provide direct services to DOROT’s elders. Through ongoing training, interns learn about the challenges of aging through workshops and field–based experiences. As they provide services and befriend the frail elderly, they help alleviate loneliness and isolation.
Through a competitive process, we choose up to 65 teen interns each year from an application pool of over 500.
Interested in the School Year or Summer Internship?
As a prospective intern, the first step is to fill out the Summer Teen Internship Application or the Teen Internship Application, then contact Quinn Lockwood at 917-441-3714 for a brief phone interview. We take great care to find teen interns who are committed, responsible, reliable, and enthusiastic about working with seniors. FIND OUT MORE HERE:

Holiday Package Deliveries
Take part in DOROT’s annual Package Deliveries, which happen on several Sundays throughout the year. You will visit a senior in their home to provide companionship and to deliver a package filled with food items. DOROT can accommodate teen volunteers arriving in groups or in pairs. Orientation is provided. Allow approximately three hours for orientation, package pickup, and the visit/delivery. To see the upcoming dates for our Package Deliveries, see Dates to Remember.
Students can also run a food drive to collect and donate the items for the food packages. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
