Reports To: Director, DOROT Westchester

Status: Part Time, 21 hour per week

About DOROT Westchester: Since 2004, DOROT’s Westchester programs have effectively combated social isolation among older adults in the county with food deliveries, weekly volunteer visits, intergenerational Shabbat celebrations, youth programs, and teleconference classes and support groups.

Position Description Summary: DOROT seeks a part-time Social Worker to recruit, assess and support current and new clients in a variety of meaningful ways. The ideal candidate is a skilled social worker who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment and values social connections as a tool for combatting isolation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-home clients assessments and/or annual reassessments of per month supporting an annual caseload
  • Provide information, referrals and advocacy to DOROT’s clients and the general community
  • Conduct outreach to recruit older adults and increase awareness of DOROT through Westchester County
  • Attend meetings at DOROT and in the county as needed
  • Work on special projects and duties as assigned by Director

Required Qualifications:

  • LMSW required
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
  • Strong group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience working with older adults a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proven record of program development and relationship building
  • Experience working with volunteers a plus
  • Knowledge of aging and community resources in Westchester County a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 2010
  • Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and the use of a car
