Many people hear the term “death doula” and think, I’m not sure what that is, and do I really want to know?

You’re not alone—this is a newer role in the United States, and many people are learning about it for the first time later in life. In reality, a death doula (aka an end-of-life doula) is simply a supportive guide: someone who helps you think through what matters most as you age, navigate choices with more clarity, and feel less alone in all the practical and emotional decisions that come with getting older.

This conversation will explore what a doula actually does, how this role is different from hospice or other medical care, and how doulas can support you long before the end of life. Think of it as a gentle, grounded way to feel more prepared and understood in the years ahead. Led by Marni Blank, End of Life and Legacy Planner.
