To mark Beethoven’s birthday this year, we will engage with his Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111. Though Beethoven’s body was in decline, his relationship to his life-long companion of the piano and the faith he put in the instrument to express his artistic outpourings reaches a pinnacle in this composition, his last work for solo piano. Artist/Scholar-in-Residence Jeanne Golan will be at the piano and offer some thoughts about the work.
This program takes place both in person at DOROT Manhattan and online over Zoom.
