Pianist Gabriel Schillinger-Hyman explores jazz standards that originated in film, revealing how the movies helped carry jazz into the collective imagination. Audiences can expect to hear works from a wide spectrum of filmic mediums and genres, including silent films, “talkies,” animated works, detective/noir, gothic horror/supernatural, romance, musicals, Hollywood and non-Hollywood-born films. The series will feature various guest artists who perform at the very top of the scene.
