Anna Purves, poet, writer, and former professor at Lehman College will lead this 90-minute workshop for jumpstarting (or re-starting) your memoir or other nonfiction project. Writing a memoir doesn’t merely document the past–it creates the future you as you make fresh discoveries about some patterns in your life. Unique exercises and focused conversation will boost ideas for a compelling topic and theme for your memoir. We’ll also examine great openings from published memoirs to further inspire how you approach your project.
