Bring your life experience to class and intertwine your personal story with real world events. This three-part workshop will help you generate material to write a hybrid memoir, braiding a significant political, social or cultural event with your own life story. In the first half of each class, we will read and analyze a section of a book or essay that combines political, social or cultural themes and personal events to form a whole. In the second half of the class, writing prompts will be offered to generate subject matter for your hybrid memoir, whether for the beginning of a book or an essay. Participants will share their work and feedback will be provided.
This series begins on Monday, November 3 and continues weekly through November 17.
