Teens and older adults will learn about the practice of mindfulness… the ability to pay attention to whatever we want to be paying attention to with kindness and curiosity. In each session, we will explore a different component of mindfulness, including mindfulness meditation, mindful breathing and mindful eating. Participants will learn several breathing techniques and simple movements to help sustain attention, increase, focus, and better manage stress.

At the completion of the course, students will walk away with simple strategies they can integrate into their daily life. No prior experience is required!

About the Facilitator: Jennifer Monness has been a mindfulness meditation facilitator for over 25 years. In 2016, she created the Meditation Lab, a program especially tailored to people who experience a tremendous amount of stress and pressure in their workplace and in their day-to-day lives. Jennifer is the mother of six and lives with her husband in Irvington, New York. In her spare time, she loves to hike, bike, and play Rummikub.

All participants must attend all workshop sessions – 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, and 11/17 from 5pm-6pm EST

If this is your first time participating in DOROT’s Intergenerational Program, you will be asked to attend an orientation.
