The Amusement Park: A Fun History
Friday, May 22, 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Step right up! Join DOROT @Home for a discussion about amusement parks and the rich, anecdotal history that begins nine centuries ago with European pleasure fairs and ends with the most elaborate modern parks in the world (including one in Israel and a Legoland in the Catskills). Enjoy the stories of the colorful characters who built these parks, from Catherine the Great (who helped popularize the rollercoaster) to Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg.
Led by Stephen Silverman, author, journalist and founding editor of People Magazine.
