Ullendorff Classic Music Concert: Bartok, Bach, Ysaye and Kodaly

Thursday, November 3 at 3:00 PM

This performance features works by Bartok, Bach, Ysaye and Kodaly performed by two outstanding young virtuoso soloists: Ben Beilman (violin) and Gabriel Cabezas (cello). The concert is generously provided by The Ullendorff Family in loving memory of their beloved parents “Uli” and Regina Ullendorff.

Global Music Series: Arabic Traditions

DOROT welcomes Zafer Tawil, virtuoso of the ‘oud, qanun, violin, and Arab percussion. Zafer performs across the US and in the Middle East and holds workshops in oud technique and Arabic music theory. He is continuously exploring the boundaries of Arab music, and classical Indian and Persian music, as well as jazz fusion. Join us as he performs some traditional music on the oud—and music that crosses culture, geography, and identity.

Global Music Series: African and Afro Cuban Rhythms

DOROT welcomes Salieu Suso, traditional African jali (musician-historian), for an exploration of the history, culture, and sounds connected to African and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Suso began training on the 21-string kora at age eight and began performing professionally at 15.

Hanukkah Music and Community Candle Lighting

Tuesday, December 20 at 3:00 PM

Join DOROT for a joyous holiday celebration! Yiddish theatre star Daniella Rabbani and cellist Elad Kabilio present songs and stores inspired by the Festival of Lights with traditions from all over the world, including klezmer, Ladino, classical opera and more. Followed by a menorah lighting ceremony and light drinks and snacks.

Global Music Series: Occitan, Yiddish and Romanian Folk Music

Thursday, January 19 at 2:00 PM

Join us as musician Eleanor Weill performs a mix of early, classical, and contemporary music, klezmer and Yiddish song, Romanian folk music, Occitan folk music, and various other styles on wooden flutes, piano, and vocals. She holds diplomas in Recorder, Piano, Music Theory and Chamber Music from the Regional Conservatory of Toulouse and the National Conservatory of Paris.
