DOROT’s mission hits home for Andrew Pardo and his young family. Before joining DOROT’s Board of Directors, Andrew attended his first event and was struck by how connection flows both ways—whether you’re 10 or 80, the impact is immediate and reciprocal.

“There’s something really powerful about the immediately tangible impact you make when you support DOROT,” Andrew says. “Whether that’s delivering packages or helping fund their life-changing programs, it’s truly fulfilling to help DOROT do what it does so well.”

Eager to do more, Andrew joined the Board—not only to provide financial support, but to learn from DOROT’s expert staff and help advance its mission.

As a healthcare investor, Andrew sees firsthand how social isolation and loneliness affect physical health, which makes DOROT’s work especially meaningful. He and his wife Amanda feel fortunate that their two young daughters have four living grandparents who are deeply present in their lives, and they recognize that many older adults don’t have family or friends nearby. Andrew looks forward to including his daughters in Package Delivery—a chance for them to learn from older adults, and for older adults to enjoy the warmth and joy that children bring.

Since moving to Westchester, Andrew has also found DOROT to be a welcoming bridge into the community. He and Amanda’s commitment to ensuring older adults are never alone inspired a generous offer: this fall, they will match all donations up to $25,000. With their support, your gift will have twice the impact on the lives of older adults.
