On Sunday, September 14, volunteers turned out for DOROT’s annual Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery. Over 500 volunteers delivered 550 holiday care packages and shared visits and calls with older adults, from all religions and backgrounds, across Manhattan and Westchester.
An older adult who received a visit shared, “Everything was greatly appreciated, especially the two volunteers who gave of their time so generously and were very empathic, intelligent, and sweet. Thank you!”
Volunteers ranged in age from families with small children in tow to Anne, a 103-year-old who welcomed fellow volunteers at our Upper West Side location (pictured below!)
Genna B. who volunteered for her second Package Delivery reflected, “DOROT’s mission really stood out to me. Both of my grandmas are based in Florida and knowing that they have a sense of community is very important to me. Being able to offer the same to my local community is something that makes me very proud.”
Thank you to all of the incredible volunteers who inspire us with their dedication to making our community stronger and more connected.
We hope to see you at our next Package Delivery event — Thanksgiving Meal Delivery on November 23, 2025. Sign up today!
