Judith Turner
Senior Program Officer, Volunteer Services and Intergenerational Program Engagement

Judith joined DOROT in 2001. She oversees a diverse program portfolio, engaging approximately 7,000 volunteers and 200 community partners annually to meet the evolving needs of older adults. Judith drives innovation and growth, establishing educational pedagogy and best practices in intergenerational programming. Additionally, she represents DOROT within the intergenerational and volunteer communities, building strategic partnerships and securing funding to support ongoing program success.
Under her leadership, DOROT earned the prestigious Eisner Award in 2017, has held the Service Enterprise distinction since 2015, and maintained the Program of Distinction award from Generations United since 2013. In 2021, Judith received the Covenant Award for her work in developing and establishing pedagogies and initiatives for intergenerational and service-learning experiential education. She is a member of the United Nations NGO Committee on Intergenerational Solidarity and served a five-year term on Mayor Bloomberg’s commission of the Age-friendly NYC project. She authored “Alleviating Social Isolation through Intergenerational Programming” published in the Journal of Intergenerational Relationships, July 2019.
Judith earned an Ed.M. from Harvard University, an M.A. from Brandeis University, and B.A. from Hampshire College.
