Teens and older adults create lasting bonds during our B Mitzvah Opportunities as they explore Jewish values, ideas, and traditions through engaging discussions and hands-on activities.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah Engagement

Give special meaning to your Bar or Bat Mitzvah experience by volunteering with DOROT. Choose from a variety of opportunities—join our B-Mitzvah Experience, or take part in activities such as making cards, delivering packages, or joining our Intergenerational Chess program.

Caring Calls

Caring Calls brings together older adults and volunteers for weekly phone conversations to socialize, chat, and connect. It’s easy to get started—and to make a new friend!

Create a Legacy Project

Preserve your life story, reflections, and words of wisdom through a DOROT Legacy Project. You’ll be paired with a trained volunteer who’ll collaborate with you at home or online to create a written or recorded keepsake.

Friendly visits are joyful for volunteers and older adults alike.

Friendly Visiting

Through Friendly Visiting, older adults welcome volunteers into their homes for weekly or monthly visits to build meaningful social connection and friendship.

An occasional help and visits, or response team, volunteer goes through photos with an older adult.

Occasional Help and Visits

DOROT’s Response Team volunteers connect with older adults for occasional visits, outings, help with special projects, or errands.

Package Delivery brings older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship.

Package Delivery

Package Delivery brings together older adults and volunteers for seasonal visits and connection. Five times throughout the year, volunteers share a social visit and deliver thoughtfully curated care packages.

DOROT Tech Coaches help older adults feel more comfortable and confident with technology.

Tech Coaching

Tech Coaching supports older adults in using technology to stay connected and access a wealth of resources—key factors to aging well. Meet one-on-one with a trained volunteer who will help you with the skills you're seeking to build.
