About Aging Well Programs
Navigate Medicare and Medicaid changes, explore housing options, say goodbye to clutter, develop your emergency plan – DOROT’s Aging Well programs cover these issues and more.
Our Aging Well programs delve into topics central to your well-being, including healthcare, housing, and advance care planning. Through large public programs and small workshops, both virtually and in person, you will learn with and from other older adults as well as experts in the field. Ask questions and gain strategies to tackle important life-planning topics, all within a supportive community.
“What Matters” at the End of Life
DOROT is an official site for the Shomer Collective’s “What Matters” program, which helps you think through end-of-life decisions. In “What Matters,” we offer group and one-on-one conversations with trained facilitators on how to talk about your end-of-life choices with those who will act on your behalf if you are unable to speak for yourself.
We can help you complete the New York State health care proxy form and the Living Will. In addition, if you are unsure who to appoint as your healthcare agent, our facilitators can talk you through this process.

Are You a Solo Ager?

DOROT’s program on end of life was outstanding, one of the most specific and comprehensive I’ve seen, delivered sensitively and maturely.
Thank You
