About Caring Calls

A phone call can go a long way. Caring Calls pairs older adults and volunteers for weekly phone conversations filled with stories, interests, and laughter. Whether reminiscing about favorite memories or swapping book recommendations, these calls create meaningful connections. It’s a simple, fun way to stay connected—one call at a time.

Volunteers and older adults initially commit to weekly calls for eight weeks and have the option to extend their time together if both are able. Weekly calls are intended to be about 20 – 30 minutes.

Wondering what you’ll discuss? The purpose of these calls is to socialize and chat about interests, experiences, hobbies, memories, and more. It’s a great opportunity to share wisdom and friendship.

Who Can Participate?

Older adults and volunteers age 18+ from anywhere in the U.S. are welcome to join Caring Calls—all you need is a phone and an interest in making a new friend.

As I age it is not easy making new friends. Having a volunteer is like having a friend that I look forward to speaking with, and the volunteer looks forward to speaking with me. It’s a win-win situation.
