About Kosher Meals at Home
If you find it difficult to go grocery shopping or prepare your own food, Kosher Meals at Home provides a weekly delivery of nutritious meals along with friendly social connection. The program is available to adults aged 60+ who live in Manhattan (from West 50th St. to West 125th St. and from East 50th St. to East 100th St.) and who keep kosher.
Meals are available both for those who have long-term needs and for short periods of time, such as immediately following a stay in the hospital or rehabilitation center.
How It Works
Each week, participants choose to receive between three to seven frozen, glatt kosher meals delivered to their homes, including both pescetarian and vegetarian options. All of our meals meet New York State nutritional requirements.
Once enrolled, our team contacts participants on a weekly basis. This is an opportunity to choose meal options, make a personal connection with our staff, and learn about other DOROT programs and ongoing support or resources that might be helpful.
Available to All
We understand how important it is to have access to nutritious kosher meals, and to know that you’ll have the food you need each week. Because of this, our meals are provided to all who are eligible, regardless of ability to pay.
DOROT is connected to other ongoing and seasonal food programs that can provide additional nutritional support to older adults in the Kosher Meals at Home program.
I always felt DOROT was a special organization, and we always donated but never believed we needed DOROT services. This was until two years ago when I requested Kosher Meals at Home (KMH) Meals. I am so grateful to DOROT for ensuring I have what I need.
