On-Site Volunteering

Our volunteers are the agents of change in every program DOROT offers. Older adults and others across the generations make the difference, when they choose from a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. During COVID-19, volunteers are lending a hand with office support over the phone and online, knitting for older adults in need, greeting participants in Zoom and phone classes and engaging in intergenerational programs.

Opportunities for Volunteers 65+ with Youth

Find common ground with teens through fun and meaningful intergenerational programming. Connect and build bonds with Generation Z and make an impact in our multi-generational community.

Office Volunteers

Looking for a structured volunteer opportunity in a warm and friendly setting? Want to use your administrative skills to support DOROT’s mission? Join us as an office volunteer! We could use your help registering older adults in our programs through phone interactions and data entry.

Knitting & Crochet Group

Knit, crochet and make a difference with other DOROT volunteers! Every two weeks at DOROT, a group of volunteers meets to share tea and cookies, conversation and camaraderie while making blankets, scarves, hats and more.

Skill-Based Volunteers

Are you an experienced professional eager to share your knowledge? Do you have a passion for helping older adults? DOROT‘s Skill-Based Volunteers teach classes, facilitate discussion groups or serve as guest speakers and entertainers for our on-site special events. Long and short-term opportunities are available. Share your talents and make a meaningful impact.

Ambassador Corps

Share your outgoing personality and your passion for our mission! As an Ambassador, you will speak for DOROT and our programs to older adults and volunteers within and beyond our walls. Greet participants and volunteers at on-site programs. Assist with event orientations. Attend volunteer fairs and community outreach events.
