The Summer Teen Internship program at DOROT helps teens bring vital social connections to older adults while learning, earning community services hours, and having fun.

Summer Teen Internship

Program: Intergenerational Programs Intergenerational Chess GENuine Connections

Time Commitment: 4 weeks

Location: DOROT (Manhattan)

The B-Mitzvah Experience

Time Commitment: Flexible

In this unique service program, a group of B-Mitzvah-age youth join with older adults in building an intergenerational community as they explore Jewish traditions and wisdom through fun activities and meaningful conversations.

Program: Tech Coaching

Time Commitment: 1-hour a week for a minimum 3-month time period

If you’re comfortable using everyday technology, help an older neighbor develop the skills and confidence they need to navigate our digital world.

Program: Cemetery Visits

Time Commitment: One-time commitment of about 5 hours

Location: In the Community

Help provide older adults with comfort and support as they visit their loved ones’ gravesites. As a volunteer, you’ll receive training to offer both physical assistance and emotional companionship, helping seniors navigate the cemetery and share memories.
