Thanks to our amazing community of volunteers, we are currently full for volunteers for Winter Package Delivery. Please join us for the Passover Package Delivery on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

As a Package Delivery volunteer, you can make a meaningful connection with an older neighbor through a social visit or phone call and a thoughtful, seasonal package. While the winter season can increase feelings of loneliness or isolation, volunteering for Winter Package Delivery creates shared connections and community.

Deliver warmth and connection to older adults through DOROT’s Winter Package Delivery! 

The program is called Package Delivery, but we like to say that it’s really “not about the package.” It’s about the connections you make—for volunteers and recipients alike.

Here’s How it Works:

1. Register!
2. Pick up a package and get matched with an older adult
3. Deliver the package to the home of an older adult
4. Stay for a social visit or follow up with a friendly phone call

What Else to Know?

Who Can Volunteer? DOROT welcomes people of all faiths, backgrounds, and identities as both volunteers and older adult participants. Package Delivery volunteers need to be at least 18 years old.

Can We Volunteer as a Family? Families with children age 10 and older are welcome to volunteer together.

Time Commitment: One-time commitment of about 90 minutes.

Requirements: Volunteers over the age of 18 must have a valid, US government-issued photo ID and watch a short online orientation.

Interested in volunteering with your corporate or community group in Manhattan?

Sign up for the Package Delivery as a group. The minimum group size is 12 participants, and all must be age 18+. Fill out THIS FORM to sign up as a group.
