About Door to Door: Since 1996, DOROT’s Door to Door (“DtoD”) program has helped seniors extend their ability to live safely at home by providing trained professional Travel Companions to accompany them to medical and other appointments, and to shop for or with them. Door to Door Travel Companions ensure that homebound older adults are able to travel to the doctor, pick up prescriptions, shop for groceries, and manage health-related and other essential appointments. When seniors are unable to travel with support, Travel Companions also run errands on their behalf. Travel Companions provide a bridge of access to services that support older adults in their day to day functioning in the community, maintaining independence and autonomy.
