NEW: One-to-One Technology
Coaching Program

Help an older adult learn to use technology for social connection and accessing resources

Program Overview
Many older adults feel “left behind” in our digital era now that staying in touch with friends and loved ones, and accessing information requires tech skills. As a DOROT Volunteer Tech Coach, you can help by teaching an older adult video chat, online shopping, and other valuable skills!

Coaches are trained and matched with DOROT clients in this new program designed to meet the specific learning needs of older adults. Coaching sessions are held in clients’ homes, on the Upper East and Upper West Sides of Manhattan.

Program Commitment
Coaches work with a minimum of two clients, 3 to 4 sessions per client. Sessions are scheduled at mutually convenient times from May to August. Coaches provide feedback to DOROT staff at regular intervals to help grow and improve this new program.

Requirements
No need to be a tech expert! The ideal coach is patient, comfortable with computers, tablets and/or smartphones, able to follow step-by-step guides on common tech applications, and enthusiastic about helping older people develop new skills. DOROT will provide orientation, training and an easy-to-follow curriculum along with ongoing support.
