Our Programs

The DOROT community of older adults range in age from 60 to over 100 – a majority in their 80s – and vary in physical mobility, economic status and backgrounds. Our in-home and community programs bring vital services and companionship to those who have difficulty leaving home without support. Seniors able to travel to our Upper West Side or Westchester offices can enjoy a host of vibrant, engaging on-site and intergenerational programs.

At Home

DOROT offers in-home programs for those who are frail or homebound, or who find it difficult to get out. These activities and services are designed for older adults, ranging in age from 60-100, living in Manhattan from 59th to 125th Streets on the West Side and from 14th to 96th Streets on the East Side. We also serve Westchester County.

At DOROT

DOROT’s headquarters on Manhattan’s Upper West Side have re-opened! Beginning Summer 2022, we will begin to offer a limited number of onsite programs here. All in-person attendees must RSVP in advance for events and be fully vaccinated and boosted. For those of you who have come to love our virtual zoom programs, rest assured!

Out and About

DOROT helps older adults age 60+ get out of their homes and around town. We connect older adults with friendly volunteers who provide companionship and support during neighborhood walks and other local outings as well as our annual Cemetery Visit program.

In Westchester

DOROT’s programs in Westchester County create connections among older adults age 60+, a community of volunteers of all ages, and our dedicated staff. Whether enjoying our holiday package deliveries or spending time in conversation or playing games, DOROT has a long history of bringing the generations together in meaningful ways in Westchester.

In Queens

In Queens

DOROT is excited to bring our dynamic programming to Queens’ 6th Congressional District to promote social connections across the generations. Participating in our programs is simple and there are no program fees. Please join us!

Community Partnerships

DOROT partners with other organizations to make an even greater impact. We extend our expertise and programs to more people through our mutually beneficial collaborations with local community-based organizations, synagogues, schools, and the larger caring community.
