Kosher Meals at Home

DOROT continues to offer our Kosher Meals at Home program without interruption during COVID-19. In response to increased demand, DOROT has expanded the reach of the program, providing emergency food assistance to more seniors than ever before.

Kosher Meals at Home is available for seniors who have difficulty shopping and cooking for themselves, including previously independent seniors who are now discouraged from leaving their homes. Healthy, frozen, Glatt kosher meals are delivered four days a week and assistance in ordering groceries, if you have a credit card, is also available. Seniors need to be kosher or keep Halal to participate.

Participants in Kosher Meals at Home connect directly with DOROT staff to choose from a menu of selections and discuss any dietary restrictions. Additionally, participants receive a weekly check-in phone call from a DOROT representative to provide support, conversation, and information about other programs and resources.

Emergency meals are available for older adults following kosher and Halal dietary laws who are recovering from an illness or returning from a hospital stay or rehab and in urgent need of prepared food. Kosher Meals at Home is also able to help seniors with short term needs while waiting for another program to start.
