Dorothy Hellmer

Chief Financial Officer

Dorothy joined DOROT in 1992. As CFO, she oversees the Finance, Information Technology, and Building Operations teams. Her responsibilities in the Finance area include budgeting, investments, forecasting, insurance, and working with DOROT’s Finance, Audit, and Investment committees providing them with information to fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities. Under her leadership, systems within the IT department are regularly updated for network efficiency and security and robust donor and client databases. She also oversees a 10,000 sq ft facility that has undergone two major renovations to provide a safe and secure space for clients, visitors, and staff.

Prior to DOROT, Dorothy was Director of Finance for the National Marine Manufacturers Association where she oversaw the finances for the boat show division.

Dorothy holds an MBA from Baruch College and a BA in Economics and German Interpretation and Translation from Queens College. She has certificates of completion in Nonprofit Leadership Development through Baruch College and The Institute for Not-For-Profit Management at Columbia University.
