Since 1976, DOROT has offered both older adult participants and volunteers the opportunity to connect meaningfully with their community, helping combat and prevent social isolation and loneliness. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of DOROT and critical to fulfilling our mission.

During your Information & Orientation Session, you can expect to hear about:
- Our most needed volunteer opportunities
- Requirements for specific volunteer opportunities
- Guidelines and best practices for engaging with older adults, including tips for relationship building and setting boundaries
- Next steps for completing the volunteer onboarding process
Orientations take place every two weeks on Zoom, and last about 1 hour. We also host in-person volunteer orientations in the warmer months.

Most volunteer opportunities require volunteers to be 18+ years old to participate. If you’re under 18 and interested in volunteering, check out our teen and family volunteer opportunities.
