Maintaining social connection while isolated at home during COVID-19 isn’t as difficult as it sounds. DOROT Onsite @Home brings the same vibrant, interactive, and life-enhancing programs that you’ve enjoyed on-site at DOROT - right to your home via Zoom videoconferencing or telephone.

DOROT Onsite @Home classes are designed for adults 60+ to encourage health and wellness, create social connection among peers and provide opportunities for dynamic learning and enrichment. Multiple one-hour classes are offered daily and participation is free. Join us for one or more.

Gentle Chair Yoga

Every Monday, 11:00 AM – NOON

Bring awareness to your breath and explore yoga poses while seated in a chair. Benefits include stress reduction, flexibility, and balance. Taught by Nobue Hirabayashi, Hatha Yoga Teacher.

Qigong Every

Monday, 3:00 – 4:00 PM

Improve balance, posture, and flexibility as you coordinate simple movement sequences with breath. This class will leave you feeling relaxed and energized. Taught by Siewli Stark, Certified Mind-Body Specialist.

Every Tuesday, 1:00 - 2:00 PM

Increase joint flexibility, mobility and balance with Tia! Tia will guide you in how to use everyday objects as weights and resistance bands. Some standing exercises are included. Led by Tia Speros-Harker, Certified Fitness Instructor.

Chair Yoga, Qigong & Tai Chi Easy™ (New Class!)

This fusion class combines gentle movement, energy work, and self-care techniques, with both seated and standing exercises (chair modifications will be offered). Class ends with a yoga nidra deep relaxation and guided meditation to refresh the body and spirit. Led by Melissa Elstein, Certified Yoga and Fitness Instructor

New! Time-Limited Class: Dancing the Diaspora

Thursdays in October, 12:30 - 1:30 PM

This workshop incorporates traditional and cultural movement practices from West African and Latin dance to build strength, flexibility as well as community and joy.  Appropriate  for all “movers,” disabled and non-disabled alike! Come, join us for one class or all four to connect and move in a different way.  Led by Sakina Ibrahim, NAACP Image Award-nominated Author, Dancer and Educator.
