Join DOROT’s LGBTQ+ community and allies for a number of new and dynamic programs. From film screenings and talkbacks to intergenerational discussion groups, learn about all of the current program opportunities below. 

Onsite@Home LGBTQ+ Film Club

Join Onsite@Home for a monthly LGBTQ+ Film Club which gives voice and visibility to the wide scope of LGBTQ+ experiences through film. Beginning on January 18, 2022, we invite you to a virtual film screening on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, and a virtual talk back on the 3rd Thursday of every month, to further explore the themes presented in each film. Aging Alone, Together

In partnership with Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, this six-week series for LGBTQ+ older adults is designed for those seeking tools, strategies and support to age more intentionally and plan for the future. Each session offers a topic-specific presentation on critical decision-making, along with conversation check-ins and assignments. First come, first served--space is limited.

Dates: Wednesdays from 5:30 pm-6:45 pm, January 19 – March 2, 2022 (6 sessions, skipping Presidents Day Week)

Intergenerational LGBTQ+ Affinity Group

Help create an intergenerational community space to explore commonly shared and differing experiences. High school students and older adults will come prepared to exchange ideas, share personal stories and to learn from one another's experiences of navigating the world as LGBTQ+ individuals. The focus of each session will be based on the interest of the group, and participants will be invited to prepare and lead a discussion with others in the group.


Winter Semester: Thursday, February 3–March 24 (no workshop on 02/24), 5:00 PM -6:30 PM EST

Spring Semester: Thursdays March 31– May 12 (no workshop on 04/21), 5:00 PM -6:30 PM

Caring Calls, for LGBTQ+ Identifying Individuals Only

LGBTQ+ Caring Calls matches older adults with younger adults to discuss interests and explore experiences as part of this shared community. Commit to 8 weekly 20-30 minute phone conversations, with an opportunity to continue if you and your pair are enjoying the connection. This special, limited opportunity is being conducted in partnership with SAGE and supported through a generous grant from UJA.
